Stop It Already

I do not trust any legislation coming from our current crop of Congressional Clowns. I wish we could entice them all to just stay home until after the November elections. Tacitus was right: "The more corrupt the state, the more it legislates." Gaius Cornelius Tacitus (Roman Senator and Historian, AD100)

Rev Up Your Engines Updated

Monday reading for concerned American citizens:

1. A cheery way to brighten your Monday morning would be to read the clever "Why I Vote Democratic" at Brutally Honest.

2.This administration and its public relations agents, a.k. mass media, apparently have no clue when it comes to economics. Every single report comes with a variation of the word "unexpected." In last Friday's dump of unpleasant news, Geithner says economy growing faster than expected. In light of the fact most people have not yet discerned any real growth, one wonders exactly what they were expecting.

3. Finally, some real coverage of the beating of 2 young Republicans in New Orleans after the Southern Republican Leadership Conference. The girl is still in the hospital after surgery to repair broken leg; the boy had a broken jaw. PowerLine links the attack to Democratic party. Big Government gives details of the attack and the injuries suffered. Mass media is too busy claiming that Tea Partiers are neo Klan members to notice that only real violence has come from Democrats in Pittsburg, St. Louis, and New Orleans.

4. The Catholic Church gets support from an unlikely source - a Jewish businessman in Cleveland. Refreshing to see that someone outside of the Church recognizes the recent attacks on Catholics and the Pope are based on prejudice, not facts. There have been point by point refutations of the instances when outright lies were told and when relevant facts were omitted on these stories dealing with decades old stories. But this man puts it all in perspective and looks at the big picture instead.

US Government Breaks Its Own Laws

American Thinker has another winner today in Government Is The Biggest Lawbreaker. By all means read it, talk about it, and start doing something about it.

Ever since Enron, I've daydreamed about describing some of the ways our federal government blithely breaks the same laws it forces down our throats every year. For example, no business would ever be allowed to operate with the slovenly reporting and accounting procedures that Congress routinely uses. Social Security is openly acknowledged to be a giant Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like a choir boy. And that's before we get around to the multitudinous laws that apply to taxpayers, but not law makers or the crony capitalism that makes a mockery of a free economic system.

David and Goliath Again?

Both Pelosi and Rangel face opposition in their quest for eternal power in the House of Representative.

The Rev. Michael Faulkner, a political novice, is running against Charlie Rangel who has had so little opposition in the past that he usually donated his campaign money to other Democrats as insurance that no one would investigate his corruption and tax evasion. Read more about Faulkner at "Charlie Rangel Faces His Scott Brown."

Nancy Pelosi's challenger, John Dennis, faces unbelievable odds since San Fran Nan usually wins with 70% of the vote. But he is undaunted as he campaigns online and in person to stop Pelosi's steamroller of money, media support, and patronage. If you really want to send her a message, I suggest you send money to Dennis' campaign. His website is JohnDennis2010.

Exploring the Unmentionables

Today's article at Canada Free Press, Lawfare, Voluntary Surrender, and Right Wing Extremists, asks some questions that many Americans have only mentioned quietly, for fear of being called a crazy kook. Its author, Jim O'Neill, puts together a few known facts about Michelle and Barack Obama, such as neither of them is allowed to practice law despite degrees from Harvard Law School and a long list of unanswered questions about the current White House residents.

Read it for the background information and because we all need to know the truth instead of being shushed up for having questions.

PS Neither Jim O'Neill nor I look for reasons to impeach; we just know there are no solutions without understanding reality.

Obama Funds ACORN Anyway

The Obama administration has quietly restored federal funding to ACORN. From Big Government, "In a March 16 memo Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Peter Orszag quietly ordered federal agencies to resume funding the group whose employees were caught on hidden camera videos last year condoning a variety of crimes including child prostitution and tax evasion."

The information was released March 19 in the usual Friday night dump of information the administration doesn't want anyone to notice.

San Fran Nan's Early Years

Nancy Pelosi wasn't a multimillionaire when first elected to Congress. Go to The Culture of Pelosi to discover a few highlights of the way she maneuvered her way to wealth. One interesting item is her virtual ownership of the prestigious Presidio.

ACORN Again

Like many who had hoped that exposing the rampant corruption in the ACORN offices on the national news would result in criminal prosecutions, I am disappointed that nothing has happened. The District Attorney in Brooklyn rubbed salt in my wounds when he found no evidence of criminality despite the videotapes showing Brooklyn officers showing O'Keefe and Giles how to avoid taxes, employ underage, illegal aliens in a prostitution ring, and qualify for a federally backed mortgage. Ann Coulter cleverly dissects his ruling in Subprime Mortgage Crisis in Whorehouses.

Beware!

Every day for the last two years, I have received emails and newsletters from numerous sources regarding the precarious financial position we citizens of the United States are in. The mildest warnings made my hair stand on end while the more trenchant made me wonder if there is any hope at all. Even John McCain, RINO, now says, "President Obama is leading an extreme left-wing crusade to bankrupt America." "Coruptocrats" have made selfish, stupid, and even criminal decisions that robbed all of us.

The mass media continues to babble about recovery, but serious sources keep saying "unsustainable." This chart from the Committee for Economic Development predicts that our debt will reach 60% of GDP by the end of this year.

Now is the time to get your own financial house in order, remembering that cash is king during recessions and depressions. Now is the time to demand that your Congressional Clowns STOP SPENDING immediately. Now is the time to pray for your country.

Conflict of Interest

The show trial that's going on in Congress over Toyota's safety engineering is a definite conflict of interest. Number one, it's unfair competition when the owner of General Motors undermines the major competition.

Number two, the relentlessness of the stories in the media indicate that Congress is catering to the UAW, not to real concerns for safety. Toyota workers have repeatedly refused to join the union which is so desperate for members that they're backing Card Check.

And then there is the sad spectacle of using questionable "experts" to denigrate Toyota. Joan Claybrook is the Carter appointee who forced automakers to install air bags despite vehement warnings that the technology was not yet developed enough. As a result, 65 deaths, mostly infants and children, occurred because of exploding air bags. Clarence Ditlow is notorious for approving the use of rocket igniters to "prove" on NBC that GM pick-ups were unsafe. These two are favorite anti-business expert witnesses. It's time the public remembered their names and protested their testimony.

On the international front, humiliating the head of the world's largest auto manufacturer on television before members of Congress is poor diplomacy. It's bad enough when the hypocritical Congressional Clowns self-righteously attack American CEO's. It's another thing altogether to do it to someone from a culture where saving face is so important that suicide is preferable to public indignity.

After this week we can hardly expect any other foreign companies to build plants in the US and give jobs to our countrymen.

Stolen Votes

I've only seen this one story about a Democrat precinct worker testifying that she stole more then 100 votes during the 2006 primary election in Kentucky. Yet, she explained in open court that the chief election officer in the county told her how to do it.

According to Wanda White, the thievery was easy. Just distract the voter before they finished, change their selections, and then pull the lever for the voter. She was also instructed to accompany people who had sold their votes into the private booth to make sure they voted for the people who paid them. Buying votes was so common that politicians banded together to buy votes for the whole group, instead of paying less money for individual votes.

Where's the outrage by the mass media? Where are the follow-up stories? Why has this only been in a local paper, The Lexington Herald-Leader and Sweetness and Light? How many other counties and states have even more voting corruption? I seem to remember barrels of ink and trainloads of paper being spent in the 2000 election when Bush was accused of stealing an election in Florida. Why is everyone silent about Democrat vote stealing techniques?

I'm with Walter

Walter Williams' take on the upcoming census was posted on Jewish World Review last Wednesday and I agree wholeheartedly. His most important paragraph is: "What to do? Unless a census taker can show me a constitutional requirement, the only information I plan to give are the number and names of the people in my household. The census taker might say, "It's the law." Thomas Jefferson said, "Whensoever the General Government (Washington) assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.""

Not only is Obama's census wasting money like drunken sailors and not only are they figuring out ways to cook the books to keep Democrats in office, they're trying to invade our privacy.

Tyranny, As I've Said Before

A van signs reiterates the thoughts of voters and taxpayers all over America. I think it's time to insist that Congress can not pass any laws that treat them differently from the rest of us.

Obama Needs Our Help

Somebody must get word to him about the leaked emails from the Climate Research group in England. He must not be aware of the biggest world wide scandal in recent history. Surely, if he knew that the global warming "science" is standing on shaky ground, if not directly on thin air, he would make an announcement and call off his trip to Copenhagen, wouldn't he?

Here are a few suggestions for articles to email to him from the bountiful list available on the Internet:

Sweetness and Light has numerous articles on the scandal including "Even the NY Times Begins to See the CRU Hoax."

UK Telegraph has "East Anglia Does U-Turn in Climate-Change Row."

Clive Crook wrote an excellent article in The Atlantic: “The stink of intellectual corruption is overpowering.”

Wall Street Journal: If you can’t trust scientists…

Christopher Booker (UK): Worst Scientific Scandal of our Generation

ACORN Again

Although our Congressional Clowns, or rather Congressional Prostitutes, love to investigate and preen before television cameras, they seem to be singularly uninterested in finding out more about ACORN. Eric Holder, US Attorney General, also seems extremely uninformed about their activities. Fortunately, Andrew Breitbart and his Big Government website, continues to unearth details about the ACORN operations.

This time, they collected reams of paper work dumped after the California Attorney General announced his intentions of investigating their activities in that state. Breitbart's group has announced they will begin releasing the damning documents bit by bit until something definitive is done. Thank you, Mr. Breitbart.

Of course, ACORN's California chief, Mr. Lagstein, has bravely stated, “…the attorney general is a political animal, but certainly every bit of the communication we have had with them has suggested that the fault will be found with the people that did the video and not the people with ACORN.”

Hmmmmmm.

Another Call for Moral Clarity

Moral clarity and its relationship to political correctness are the subject of Bill Bennett's column, "Whitewashing Reality," at National Review Online.

The money quote is: There is a rot that spreads outside of Washington into the larger culture. It begins with a confusion of terms, and by not calling things by their proper names, it begins with a disassembling of the moral categories. . . . And so we are reminded again of the notion that the chief purpose of education is to know when a man is talking rot. Because, if unchecked, the rot will settle, it will metastasize.

But you really need to read the whole thing.

No Longer Called Congressional Clowns

After Saturday's historic vote by the Senate and Mary Landrieu's boast about being bought for $300,000,000, I think we should change their name to Congressional Prostitutes.

No wonder our national debt is so high. The leadership in both parties has been buying votes for decades instead of letting bills stand or fall on their own merits. After all, it's easy to spend other people's money.

What worse, is the their constituents mistakenly believe their very own Prostitutes are bringing bacon home. The reality is they're just adding to the people's tax burden for generations to come, often for projects that are questionable at best.

It's time for everyone, politicians and voters alike, to straighten up and become honest. It's time we all developed moral clarity in every aspect of our lives.

Holder's Conflict of Interests

I had intended to write about Eric Holder's former law firm, Covington & Burling, representing numerous detainees at Gitmo and the obvious conflicts of interest with his current position as Attorney General, but never got around to it. Yesterday The Washington Examiner bravely covers his refusal to recuse himself or provide complete information when asked by the Senate Judiciary Committee. I am not certain whether that exchange was before or after he made a fool of himself testifying that he had not considered precedent or consequences before making the decision to try KSM in New York City.

Michelle Malkin covers the complete background story today, so read the details there.

The Most Scurrilous Clowns

This is a list of the fifteen most corrupt Congressional Clowns according to a left leaning watchdog group. I am not privy to the criteria they employed in forming the list, but I can think of several they ignored. At any rate, the frightening thing is the depth of corruption and the lack of shame or censure either by their colleagues or by the mass media.
One on the list plans to run for governor of Georgia and I can personally testify to his ethical challenges.
