And thus they have started a negative publicity campaign about it. Andrew Sullivan has an article in The Atlantic calling them Tea Tantrums. Cliff Garstang’s blog insists that the grass roots movement is more like The Weather Underground than the Sons of Liberty, as Fox News had suggested.
Other groups plan to infiltrate and disrupt the demonstrations. The Huffington Post is recruiting volunteers and will send them instructions for the actual event by private email. They encourage pictures, video, written reports, and use of Twitter. Others report that ACORN “volunteers” will be there asking people to sign petitions, only they misrepresent what the petition is specifically requesting. Others report that ACORN people will try to instigate riots to give the wrong impression of the Tea Parties.
