Lent 2010

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I Timothy 2:1-2

If this verse were important during the Roman Empire, it is doubly applicable to our Constitutional Republic. For too long, Americans have been passive about our employees -- Congressional Clowns and other elected officials. We need to pray for them because everyone needs prayer, because they are making decisions that will affect our everyday lives, and because they have been given power and power tends to corrupt.

Prayer both enlightens and enhances political activity.
