Priorities, Priorities

Nothing is surprising about Obama’s choices regarding the budget except how clearly they expose his true intentions for all the world to see. For example, he decided to halve the benefits given to families of policemen killed in the line of duty. In another slash and burn, he eviscerated the Department of Labor’s budget for investigating and enforcing union corruption. I guess the police didn’t contribute enough money to his campaign.

On the other hand, he wants to double the enforcement budget at the dearly beloved Internal Revenue Service, where one is guilty until one proves himself to be innocent. And where the regulations are so convoluted, IRS agents won’t stand behind each others’ interpretation of them in specific instances.

While we’re on the subject of the IRS, those “evil” tax loop holes that international companies have been using are perfectly legal until Congress changes the law. Obama’s claim that using them was illegal is entirely spurious.
