My pain free solution to the economic malaise is to start allowing Americans to make use of the natural resources that we already own. If sanctions against drilling for our own oil, building nuclear power plants here, mining and processing our own oil shale, and using our own coal were immediately lifted, the economy would surge. Think about the number of jobs that would become available, not to mention the increase in consumer and investor confidence. Understand that we would become far less vulnerable to foreign attacks or blackmail because we would be energy independent.

Frivolous lawsuits would have to be disallowed or settled within six months. This is no time to fight the energy companies.
