What The Senate Gives, Pelosi Plans to Take Away

Pelosi vows to bring cap and trade legislation to the House floor this year despite the resounding vote against it in the Senate. Waxman (D CA) and Markey (D MA) have promised to get the bill out of committee and onto the floor before Labor Day. When pressed about increasing the cost of power to everyone in America, she promised "to see that whatever we do does not increase the burden on our rate-payers." That defies all logic since increasing costs of production necessarily results in increasing costs to consumers. However, the Speaker merely repeated her mantra when questioned.
